Unable to get Mag Tools installed.

description

Running the latest Decal, and VTank.

My installation folders are as follows:
AC:ToD-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Asheron's Call - Throne of Destiny

Decal-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Decal 3.0

VTank-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Decal 3.0\VirindiPlugins

I'm running Win7 x64 SP1, fully patched. I have setup custom installation folders for AC, & Decal. How can I resolve this? I do not see magtools app. anywhere on Vtank. Please help? TIA

Mag-Tools uses VVS so it will appear on the Virindi Tank Bar, but it is not a part of Virindi Tank

You must add Mag-Tools to Decal manually through Add/Browse - locate your magtools.dll and save.

Giving a bad review because you didn't follow instructions is abhorrent.

Ok, it took a month for you to respond. I knew the minute you responded. It is important to PROPERLY document software.
  1. start decal.
  2. on the task where it shows the icons of your running programs, right click on Decal.
  3. you can exit, or Configure.
  4. click the ADD button (if it asks you to update, please do so).
  5. you will be brought to the "Add/Remove Plugins" window.
  6. Click "Browse" and find the folder that you have saved MagTools.dll in and click on it.
  7. Click save.
  8. Click "Close" twice to exit the "Add/Remove Plugins" window.
You can repeat steps 7 & 8 to add other plugins such as magfilters.dll.

MagTools is a great tool, and I do thank you for creating it. However, I gave you a bad review because it was EXTREMELY poorly documented, and I stand by that.

  1. Clarify Programming Needs.
  2. Design the Program.
  3. Code the Program.
  4. Test the Program.
  5. Document and Maintain.
Documentation should be ongoing from the very beginning because it is needed for those involved with program now and future. Upon completion User Documentation for commercial use, Operator Documentation for people who run computer systems, and Programmer Documentation for programmers charged with maintenance.

Four mini steps:
Write user documentation
Write operator documentation
Write programmer documentation
Maintain the program

First off, I didn't develop this plugin.

If you read the documentation page you would see at the very top it has installation instructions that are quite clear.
Download the dll to a directory of your choice, probably c:\games\decal plugins\ (or Documents\Decal Plugins)
Open Decal Agent and on the right, click Add.
Click browse and navigate to c:\games\decal plugins\ (or Documents\Decal Plugins)
Select Magtools.dll and click save.
Most features are disabled by default. Enable them in-game through the plugin.
There is no need to walk someone through the obvious tasks like how to open Decal Agent.

We update the documentation quite frequently.

Your condescending tone is unappreciated.
